# Spot Trading FAQs

#### **Spot Trading FAQ**

**1. Order Not Executed**

Please check the order price. If your order price is too far from the current market price, there may be no matching orders to fulfill your request. Your order will remain in the order book and wait to be filled.

If you want the order to be filled quickly, consider canceling it and placing a new one with a better price, or use a **market order** instead.

***

**2. Order Rejected**

To prevent market manipulation and protect traders, ChainBitX has implemented execution limits:

Market orders will only be matched with the top **10 best bid/ask orders** in the order book. Any orders that exceed this limit will be **rejected**.

***

**3. Why are spot prices different from contract prices?**

Spot and contract trading operate on different order books, so price differences are normal.

Contracts involve **leverage, holding costs, user types, and trading volumes** that are distinct from spot trading. Since contracts are settled at a **future date**, unlike spot trades which settle instantly, price deviations between the two markets are expected.

***

**4. Why is my spot trade executed at a different price? What is a spread?**

Price differences are normal. Market orders and conditional orders execute at the **best available market price**, which may vary due to rapid price movement or liquidity depth.

For example, if the BTC index price is $50,000 and you place a market order to buy 3 BTC, they may be filled at $50,001, $50,079, and $51,000. The average execution price is $50,693. The **spread** is the difference between the index price ($50,000) and execution price ($50,693), which in this case is **$693**.

**1. What is cryptocurrency spot trading?**

It’s the act of buying and selling cryptocurrencies at the **current market price**.

For example, in the BTC/USDT trading pair, the price reflects how much USDT is needed to buy 1 BTC, or how much USDT you receive when selling 1 BTC.

***

**2. What’s the difference between spot and contract trading?**

* **Spot Trading**: You own the actual asset (e.g., BTC). You can hold it long-term or exchange it for other tokens.
* **Contract Trading**: You **do not own** the actual asset. You trade based on price speculation, and can go long (buy) or short (sell) using leverage.

***

**3. What are the spot trading fees?**

* **Maker** (providing liquidity): 0.05%
* **Taker** (removing liquidity): 0.05%

For more details, visit: [www.ChainBitX.com](http://www.chainbitx.com/)

***

**4. What is Maker vs. Taker?**

* **Maker**: Places a limit order that stays on the order book, waiting to be matched.
* **Taker**: Places an order that matches an existing one immediately, removing liquidity.

***

**5. How do I transfer funds to my spot account?**

* **Web**: Click “My Assets” or “Transfer” to move funds from your Wallet or Contract account.
* **App**: Tap the button in the lower-right corner → "Transfer" → “To Main Account - Spot” → select currency → enter amount → tap “Transfer”.

***

**6. What are Market, Limit, and Conditional Orders?**

* **Limit Order**: Set a specific price and wait for the market to reach it.
 * *Pros*: Control over price.
 * *Cons*: May not be filled.
* **Market Order**: Executed at the current market price.
 * *Pros*: Immediate execution.
 * *Cons*: Price may vary during volatility.
* **Conditional Order**: Triggered only when the market hits your specified trigger price.
 * *Pros*: More control over execution.
 * *Cons*: May not be executed if trigger price is not reached.

***

**7. Why can't I set a specific quantity for market buy orders?**

Market buy orders are executed based on available prices. To ensure accurate execution, you **input the amount of assets (e.g., USDT)** to be spent rather than the amount of crypto to be bought.

***

**8. Are there limits in spot trading?**

Yes. ChainBitX limits market orders to the **top 10 levels of the order book** to prevent manipulation. Orders exceeding this range will be rejected.

***

**9. What is the max number of open orders?**

Each user can have up to **50 open positions**.

* All limit orders are shown in the **“Limit Orders”** section.
* All conditional orders are displayed in the **Positions tab**.

***

**10. Are there minimum and maximum limits for each trade?**

Yes. For detailed info, check here: [www.ChainBitX.com](http://www.chainbitx.com/)

***

**11. How do I view my spot order history?**

Go to the **Spot Trading** page → tap **“All”** → choose from Market/Limit/Conditional orders.

More details: [www.ChainBitX.com](http://www.chainbitx.com/)

***

**12. What’s the difference between “Order History” and “Trade History”?**

* **Trade History**: Shows fully executed trades with detailed info.
* **Order History**: Includes all executed and canceled orders.

***

**13. Is my spot account balance shared with my contract account?**

No. Spot account funds **do not act as margin** for open contract positions.

***

**14. Why did my ETH limit order execute at a lower price?**

If you placed a **buy limit order** at $2800 and the market price dropped to $2600, your order was matched at the **better price** of $2600.

Limit orders allow you to set the **maximum** price you’re willing to pay (or minimum to sell). If the market offers a better price, your order will be filled at that better rate.
