# Fees and Funding Rate

**1. Spot Trading**

* **Trading Fee Rate:**
  * Flat rate: **0.2%**
  * No distinction between Maker and Taker

**2. Futures Trading**

* **Matching Fee Mechanism:**
  * **Maker:** 0.05%
  * **Taker:** 0.05%

Definitions:

* **Maker**: A user who places a limit order that is not immediately filled. Makers add liquidity to the market.
* **Taker**: A user who places an order that is immediately matched with an existing order, typically through a market order. Takers consume liquidity.
* The specific fee amount will be displayed on the order confirmation page and recorded in the trade history.

**3. VIP Tiered Fee Discount System**

* ChainBitX offers a VIP program for active traders, based on their trading volume over the past 30 days.
* The higher the VIP level, the lower the trading fees.
* Users can view their current VIP level and the requirements for the next level in the "Account Settings" section.
* VIP level upgrades can be accelerated by increasing trading volume or participating in platform events.

**4. Funding Fee Settlement (For Futures Only)**

* **Applies only to users with open positions.** No funding fees are charged if no positions are held.
* **Settlement Times (Daily, UTC+8):**
  * 00:00
  * 08:00
  * 16:00
* **Fee Direction:**
  * **Positive:** Users pay the funding fee
  * **Negative:** Users receive funding
  * The funding rate is dynamically adjusted based on the market's long/short demand balance.
* **Settlement Method:**
  * Funding fees are automatically deducted from or credited to the user’s account balance.
  * No manual action is required.

Users are advised to monitor their positions and account balance, especially before funding settlement times, to avoid potential liquidation or other risks.

**5. Position Limit**

* Each user may hold up to **50 open positions** simultaneously.
