# Forgot Password or Lost Authenticator

When using the **ChainBitX** platform, if users forget their login password or lose the bound Google Authenticator, the platform provides a clear and strict recovery process to ensure restoration only after verifying identity.

**Password Recovery Steps:**

1. Visit the **ChainBitX** login page and click "Forgot Password."
2. Enter the registered email or phone number to receive a verification code.
3. Set a new password (recommended to include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, with a minimum length of 8 characters).
4. After resetting, you can log in to your account again.

**Lost Google Authenticator Handling:**

1. Click "Can't use Authenticator?" on the login page.
2. The system will guide you through identity verification (uploading ID proof and a selfie, etc.).
3. After customer service approval, the binding device can be reset.
4. The review process usually takes 1-3 business days; please be patient for security reasons.

**Security Recommendations:**

* Avoid installing the Google Authenticator on only one device; additionally back up the key (e.g., handwritten or paper copy).
