# Common Questions about Futures Trading

1. **What is the minimum contract opening amount?**

The minimum opening amount varies slightly for each trading pair (coin) and is dynamically adjusted based on the current coin price and leverage level. Generally, most coins support a minimum opening of 10 USDT, which is suitable for beginners to try small trades. You can check the specific minimum opening limit for each coin in the order window to ensure it meets platform requirements before submitting an order.

2. **Can long and short positions exist simultaneously?**

Yes. ChainBitX supports “dual-position mode” (also called hedging), allowing users to hold both long and short positions on the same coin simultaneously. For example, you can hold a 1 BTC long position and a 1 BTC short position in the BTC contract, corresponding to different market directions. This is useful for grid trading, hedging, or short-term trend testing. It is recommended to fully understand the logic of dual-position mode before enabling it to avoid confusing position directions.

3. **Will the system notify me of liquidation?**

Yes. When your account faces forced liquidation risk, the ChainBitX system will send alerts through multiple channels, including:

* SMS reminders (phone number binding required)
* App push notifications (notification permissions must be enabled)
* Email alerts (email binding required)

To ensure you don’t miss any important alerts, it is recommended to enable all notification permissions in your account security settings and set notifications to “always allow.”

4. **How are fees charged?**

ChainBitX perpetual contracts use a standardized fee structure, mainly divided into two types:

* Opening fee: charged as a percentage of the nominal order value for each position opened;
* Closing fee: charged similarly as a percentage when closing a position.

Fee rates vary slightly by trading pair. You can check the latest standards on the “Contract Trading Page” > “Fee Explanation.” Additionally, some highly active traders or VIP users enjoy lower fee rates; details are available in official announcements.
